Lower Secondary

Key Stage 3 is usually taught to students of age 11 to 13 years. Your child will continue to be assessed and monitored to ensure they are fully supported and mentored to achieve their optimum level of educational development.

At Merton, your child will benefit from highly qualified British teaching professionals specialised in each subject area. These subjects will provide a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that will prepare your child for success in the future and a solid foundation for IGCSE.

The majority of independent junior and preparatory schools require that children complete an assessment and attend an interview in order to be considered for admission. At 11+, entry is as much about identifying potential as it is about evaluating current academic skills. It is common for children to be asked to take a Maths and an English test, which assess their basic numeracy and literacy skills. Test scores on the 13+ test determine which high school the student attends.

As the competition for admissions has become more intense, this test has become increasingly important.

As a parent, you want to give your child the best possible start in life. The first step in achieving this goal is to ensure that your child attends an elite school where they will thrive and be educated to the highest level. With the increasing pressure to attend school from the age of 11 and 13, many families choose to enrol their children in elite schools as early as the age of seven.

It is our goal to support your child in achieving their goals by providing basic skills training for children who are just starting their education to help them shine in exams and interviews. As a Cambridge international online school, we've helped countless children secure their placements.
